About Us

Rev. James C. Cooper, Sr. is the pastor of New St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church of Flowood, MS.  He is married to the 1st Lady Sheila Cooper.  Pastor James C. Cooper, Sr. continues to share God’s vision for our church family through his leadership, preaching and teaching abilities in an effort to make God’s vision a reality by cultivating true Christian disciples for Christ.

It is now our greatest joy, as a church family, to proclaim and exemplify God’s new creation in Christ in our daily walk as well as our daily talk. The Saint Matthew Family is committed toward developing relationships that produce love, acceptance, encouragement, service and sacrifice for one another. Our doors are open wide to everyone, and our hearts shut to no one seeking to find a safe place for spiritual life, growth and fellowship.
